newBiz/ed - An established and popular resource for those studying Business Studies, Accounting, Economics and Travel and Tourism. There is a wide range of free learning materials available at this site, along with some commercial materials if you require more in-depth notes. Aside from being an excellent resource for all things business related, Biz/ed also keeps visitors updated with its regular news service, offering stories from various industry sectors.

S-Cool! - Here's our favourite searchable (and free) revision guide. S-Cool! provides comprehensive revision articles, useful for exam preparation. GCSE subjects covered here include: Maths, Biology, English, Geography, Chemistry and PE. The "A" Level revision subjects included here are: Maths, Sciences, English Literature, Economics and History. You'll also find plenty of additional features.

Topmarks - Aims to provide an alternative approach to traditional learning in the classroom. The site will appeal to children, parents and teachers and has a fast search engine that searches for educational links by age group. The site covers Art, Physics, Economics and many more topics, plus has a useful teachers discussion board, where you can gather to talk about educational topics. They provide great links to free education resources.

Anti Study - Looking for free cliff notes, book notes or book summaries online? AntiStudy.com is a search engine listing free literature summaries on novels, plays and poems. If you prefer to search manually, you can do so by clicking "browse book notes by title". People studying such works as Shakespeare, To Kill a Mockingbird and Lord of the Flies will find the site useful.

Anti Essays - Provides over a thousand free essays, term papers and research papers on a wide variety of topics. Here, you can browse through the essays using a search engine or look manually by category. These include: free art essays, business/economics, college essays, English, history, science/technology, psychology, Shakespeare and social issues.

GCSE.com - This award-winning Web site has a large collection of Mathematics, English, ICT, French and Physics tutorials for students in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. They provide handy tips, past exam papers, model answers and exam techniques, plus syllabuses and downloadable revision notes. The site is updated almost every day and is an excellent resource for exam practice.

Planet Papers - Need a good quality essay in a hurry? Head over to the Planet Paper Web site and you'll find well over 3000 written pieces to use for educational purposes. Their directory features essays concerned with various topics, ranging from science, technology and history to literature and religion. If you're currently studying Shakespeare, there's a dedicated "must see" section.

BBC Bite Size Revision - The BBC's revision Web site covers almost every subject under the sun. Mathematics, German and Chemistry are all covered in great detail and they make use of a nifty program that allows you to test, then mark yourself. Online revision guides are also available and pupils can even e-mail teachers for extra information. Note: recommended for GCSE and "A" Level students.

FreeTranslation.com - One of the best (and most popular) free translation Web sites available on the Internet. They offer speedy translations and have a fairly correct grammar database that only slips up occasionally. We've found using short, correct sentences generates a more accurate translation result, particularly when using the German, French and Spanish languages.

Dictionary.com - Has a good online dictionary and thesaurus. As well as providing the English version, they also have German, Greek, Latin and Spanish dictionaries. An online translator allows you to translate text and Web pages between English and French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish. However, it is not always totally accurate. Features free daily crosswords and puzzles.

Coursework Bank - A popular educational site with an enormous list of free UK GCSE, "A" Level and University written coursework pieces. This site also has the only library of UCAS personal statements on the Internet for UK university applications. Math Goodies - Mrs. Glosser's site provides students with free, interactive math lessons over the Internet. They've got over 400 pages full of math activities, number games, problems, plus some great resources for parents, pupils and teachers. Should you want to discuss the site (or anything else related to math), head on over to their message forums and post a few comments to others.

Schoolzone - Search through 30,000 education resources at the so-called "UK's number 1 education site". Despite the rather cluttered site design, fully qualified teachers have added their input to create a comprehensive and categorised primary/secondary school guide. For pupils and teachers, there are worksheets, homework help, educational games, trips and lots more besides.

Encyclopedia.com - This site conveniently places an extraordinary amount of information at your fingertips in the form of an online encyclopedia. You can access more than 14,000 articles from the "Concise Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia" and sort your way through an organised A-Z directory to find particular topics. Their handy search function will help you locate subjects much faster.
